Challenge Guidelines
Between June 26 and July 26, attend the LEAP-sponsored programs listed below and earn entries into the prize drawing for a trip to Hershey Park for them and a friend. The more programs you attend, the more entries you earn! Once you have attended at least five events, be sure to close the to-do for the challenge in Starfish!
- Receive one prize entry for each program you attend.
- Attend five or more programs and receive an additional five prize entries.
- Attend ten or more programs and receive an additional ten prize entries.
The Hershey Park trip will take place on Saturday, August 3, 2024. Transportation and entry to the park will be provided by the LEAP program to prize winners. Students are responsible for the cost of food, beverages, and anything they would want to purchase in the park. Winners will be notified on Monday, July 29th and must confirm their trip attendance and the name of the friend attending with them by Thursday, August 1. A total of 35 students will be selected as prize winners and each prize winner can bring one LEAP student as their guest. Any student entered into the drawing who does not win the Hershey Park trip will be invited to an ice cream social.
*The friend each prize winner selects to take must also be enrolled in the LEAP program.

To be eligible for the challenge, students must be enrolled in the LEAP program during Summer 2024. Attendance will be taken at each event. Please be sure to bring your student ID.

Puzzle with Pride Tournament

Identity journeys can be puzzling to say the least, but supportive peers can make things a little easier. Gather a team of 3 and put your puzzle skills to the test with the Center for Sexual and Gender Diversity to see what team will be the fastest to complete a 500 piece puzzle. Don't have a team? That's okay! Stop by and we'll find you some teammates.

Summer Day of Service
June 29 from 9:00 a.m. - 3:00 p.m. at Stone Valley Recreation Center

Participants will spend the first half of the day assisting with painting and trail maintenance. Once service is completed, volunteers will be provided lunch and have open access to the recreation amenities such as kayaks, stand-up paddleboards, outdoor games, etc.

Wellness Wednesday: Forest Bathing

Forest bathing, or "shinrin-yoku," is a Japanese practice that involves immersing oneself in a forest environment to enhance physical and mental health. By mindfully engaging with nature through all five senses, participants can reduce stress, improve mood, and boost overall well-being. This therapeutic activity encourages a slower, more deliberate interaction with the natural world, allowing individuals to disconnect from the hectic pace of everyday life and reconnect with themselves in a serene setting.
