First-Year Students

A summer start is an opportunity to begin your time at Penn State in a smaller environment. You’ll meet faculty, your adviser, and have an opportunity to familiarize yourself with the campus and community while taking two courses during Summer Session II that will count toward your degree.

First-year students may be admitted for a summer start, or they may choose to begin their coursework in the summer by transferring their admittance from fall to summer.

I enjoyed my summer classes. I feel as if the smaller class sie helped prepare me for exams, and I benefited from the one-on-one time I got with my professor.
